Ferromanganese: Iron alloy of manganese and iron. Main classification: high carbon ferromanganese
(containing carbon 7%), medium carbon ferromanganese (containing carbon 1.0~1.5%), low carbon
ferromanganese (containing carbon 0.5%), manganese metal, silicon manganese alloy.
Ferromanganese is also an important auxiliary material for cast iron and steelmaking. Its fracture is
dark gray and has a blue and yellow flash color, so it is hard and brittle.Due to the high affinity
between manganese and oxygen, oxides such as MnO can be formed, so ferromanganese is used as
deoxidizer in steelmaking. In refining alloy steel, manganese iron is the alloy additive of fierce
steel.
It is widely used in refining high manganese steel and foundry.
